Reading Buyer Intent in Facebook Live Comments

Not every comment is equal. Learn which phrases signal a ready-to-buy viewer—and how to prioritize them during a fast-moving live.

A busy Facebook Live comment feed looks chaotic. Underneath it, though, some messages are far more valuable than others.

If you treat every comment the same, you’ll spend energy on greetings and miss the people asking for sizes, colors, and next steps.

Signals of high intent

Watch for language that points to a purchase decision:

  • Specific size or color requests
  • “Is this still available?”
  • “Do you have something similar?”
  • Questions about shipping, payment, or claiming an item
  • Follow-ups after an item was featured

These viewers are closer to buying than someone saying “so pretty!”—and they deserve priority attention.

Build a triage habit

Whether you host solo or with a moderator, agree on a simple rule: intent comments get answered first.

Pin or star them mentally. Reply with clarity. If the product is gone, move immediately to an alternative or a waitlist so the buyer isn’t left hanging.

Tools help at scale

As your lives grow, manual triage gets harder. Detection and suggested replies aren’t about replacing your voice—they’re about making sure the highest-value comments don’t disappear in the scroll.

Train your eye first. Then use systems that reinforce the habit every time you go live.
